A passionate spark was lit for the craft of coffee in 1998 when founders, Mike and Medora Safai, opened a 72 sq. ft. drive-thru kiosk in Louisville, KY. Within that humble hut, the Safai’s began a lifelong quest for depths and nuanced flavors derived from coffee.  

Mike, our Master Roaster, builds relationships directly with coffee farmers and their support communities. These relationships give him insights into the growing conditions at origin while providing feedback to farmers about his preferred characteristics. Exchanging knowledge over 20 years has developed life-long loyal friendships as well as exquisitely roasted coffees.  

It’s been 20 years and counting since the Safai’s began their coffee roasting journey in that small kiosk. Since then, their passion for purveying the finest coffees has grown into a caring and thriving business.
